The 1996 movie SLINGBLADE (NSFW)  -mostly due to language- was a masterpiece. 

It follows Karl -a mentally impaired man- as he re assimilates into society after spending many years in an institution for the criminally insane. It is like a random window in the life of small town America. It does not mock or ridicule, neither does it judge.

I should devote an entire post to this strangely beautiful movie. Without spoiling too much of it, I would like to share a few scenes, involving some of the main characters

 .......a very talented cast and crew.

The movie won numerous awards, including the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

It may bother at times, even disturb; but it will also uplift the spirit.
