A Notable Day

The temperatures have been soaring around here for the last few days, breaking all sorts of records for early May! Today was a little cooler, which I prefer.

Mchappy Day

It's Mchappy Day (May 8th) in Canada today and every McDonalds restaurant across the country is raising money from donations and sales, to aid their charitable organization - the Ronald Mcdonald House.

This year, they are trying to build another house.

These houses are typically located within a few minutes of a nearby Children's hospital. Here, the families of sick children can stay at, for only $12/night (nobody is EVER turned away for not having the money - BTW). Many free services are also available to the families, while they stay.

Victory in Europe Day/День Победы в России

On another mc happy note, it is Victory in Europe Day today (Victory Day in Russia/День Победы в России).

Fantastic everybody!

Let's not forget that many brave men and women fought a vicious World War and upwards of 60 million+ people died during it's 6 year course (1939-1945). It ended on this day (May 8th) 68 years ago.

A better world (believe it or not) came about because of this great victory.

There is not a single family within the whole of Russia, which did not lose at least one member during this war.

A total of 20-24 million Russians died.

Or 1 Russian in 6.
