Blue Puppy/ Голубой щенок

Blue Puppy/ Голубой щенок (and the Black Cat/Черный кот)

Was a Russian film made during Soviet times (1976), written by: Yuri Entin/Юрия Энтина
and directed by: Yefim Gamburg/ Ефим Гамбург

It is the story of the Blue Puppy who is rejected by all, because of his color. A wicked Pirate attacks the island and with the help of the Black Cat, kidnaps the puppy. The Good Sailor -who basically, always does good, intervenes and together -he and the puppy defeat the pirate. When the puppy returns home, everybody likes him. But more importantly, the puppy has a true friendship with the sailor.

Employing some unique animation techniques, music and traditional values, the story is very cute and interesting to watch. It is also an exemplary example of  "art". It sort of reminds me of The Beatles "Yellow Submarine". Annoying- but strangely hypnotic.

I proudly present the feature presentation!

-shhh!!!
