Honor the Day NOVEMBER 11/Честь День 11 ноября

Honor the Day- Nov11

Things have been a little slow lately, here on the "blog front". Although I have been working on several new postings, nothing has been "coming out" due to....let's just say "technical difficulties". That being said, I shall punch out this posting ASAP for you - my dear readers.

In Flanders Fields
 Capt. John McCrae ( b.1872 - d.1918 )

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

An edited copy of the previous posting: A Notable Day celebrating the end to the war in Europe 1939-1945:

Victory in Europe Day/День Победы в России

...... it is Victory in Europe Day today (Victory Day in Russia/День Победы в России).

Fantastic everybody!

Let's not forget that many brave men and women fought a vicious World War and upwards of 60 million+ people died during it's 6 year course (1939-1945). It ended on this day (May 8th) 68 years ago.

A better world (believe it or not) came about because of this great victory.

The music groups:
#1
Chelsea/Челси preforming - Katusha/Катюша (2008)

#2

A  Studio/ A Студио preforming -  Нам нужна одна победа/We Need One Victory (2010)

Look at those faces.

Can you see the emotions?

There is not a single family within the whole of Russia, which did not lose at least one member during this war.

A total of 20-24 million Russians died.

Or 1 Russian in 6.

Honor the day.
