Of Monsters and Men

The Icelandic rock group - Of Monsters and Men
.

Live at The Peak (102.7) May 2013 performing: "Little Talks"

Pretty good stuff hey people? Of course, the music is Indie rock..er .Indie folk....ish ....as the band is from Iceland, the music would be more folkish than rock..... and also, the people there believe in elves.... and such things...
..for an excellent article about Iceland and it's nomadic noble people, see the Dreaming of Iceland post, or perhaps check out Picnic on a Floating Iceberg also very informative ...very
.

The origins Of Monsters and Men, date back to 2009, when Nana Bryndis Hilmarsdotti, decided to add some musicians to her then, solo musical act - Songbird**

Enter:
Ragnar Thorhallsson - vocals, acoustic guitar
Brynjar Liefsson - supporting vocals, lead guitar, baritone guitar
Kristjan Pall Kristjansson - bass guitar, supporting vocals
Arnar Rosenkranz Hilmarsson - drums, percussion, supporting vocals

Ragnar -sounds like a bad-ass name...like a dragon slayer or something- soon came up with the band's new name - Of Monsters and Men - ( and if I was a guy in the band, I would have quickly changed the name as well!...no offense Nana! ...just saying - oh and you're kind of cute )

also, when Of Monsters and Men goes on a tour, they add 2 more band members:
Steingrimur Teague - piano, supporting vocals
Ragnhildur Gunnarsdottir - trumpet, accordion, keyboards, supporting vocals

**
I have no information on this one woman band, but feel free to look it up for yourself
