In keeping with the current Sochi Olympics, a loosely related Olympic post we have.

Earlier that same year, the Australian government under the leadership of Prime Minister John Howard had been unwilling to issue a public apology for these past policies, even in the face of public pressure.....but Howard was there at the ceremonies.....listening to his favorite Midnight Oil song: "Beds Are Burning"
Funny huh? In the view of millions...the group apologized for it's Australian government......FINALLY!!!

- took a stand against corporate greed, the plight of the environment and mistreatment of Australia's aboriginal population. Famously appearing at the closing ceremonies of the 2000 Olympic Games in Sidney, the entire group dressed in black, with each person bearing the word SORRY.
